Stellar Revenant: A Pocket SciFi Tale
You wake in your cubicle bed, knocking empty CalorieWater bottles to the floor, their metal clatter pattering across carbon concrete. They keep rattling. No, it's the alarm clock. You will it off. Nothing. You will again. Cheap implant. You smack the side of your head. Silence.
An interesting game system where you'll be reading different segments of the adventure, and then testing skills or making choices about which path to follow. Think of it like Choose Your Own Adventure meets a solo game using a deck of cards, pen, and paper. With three skills to utilize as you make your way through this adventure, plus your life force measured by Vigor which can never reach zero if you want to survive, you'll have a lot to enjoy as you explore the different possibilities in this little adventure.
Power Creep: Scarab, East ‘Burg 2134
Just when things seemed to be leveling out, a new evolution threatens to throw things into chaos.
Scarab is back and this time we’re looking at his Biolab Blueprint. This one lets him gain a Health group or increase a die by up to 3 when you circle 2 matching numbers next to a defeated threat. This is a great, flexible ability to have unlocked! You might need those bumps to your dice with the Pincer Wings, which will make you reduce a Good Die by 1 when possible. Try to knock them out quickly to maintain your die rolls whenever possible!
Battle Pages: Kingdom of Polyeen, Marching Order 2
Merchants and artisans fill the streets with glass, crystal, and threads of great renown.
We’re back for another Battle Pages installment, and this time we’re looking at Edwin’s rival: Medusa. She’ll petrify your decisions each round, as you must choose even or odd prior to rolling good dice, and then you can only place those dice that round. Depending on how those rolls go, you might end up hissing in anger at her often as you watch your plans slither away toward defeat.
GRIMLORE Profane Truths, Case File #49: John Decius Myers
After the Orrery, Clark, Margaret, and JD return to the Society rooms, eat and rest in turns. Brenda's desk holds three things: an invitation with no address, a clipping about a private gallery night, and a note in her hand: “Ask about the Gray Room”. Margaret dusts the invitation and finds a faint wax seal mark: a crescent over the letter A. JD empties Brenda's coat drawer and finds a gallery catalogue card stamped “admit one” and a cloakroom token from the Riverside Theatre. Clark checks Smith's Journal for references to “borrowed rooms” used by the Whateley circle to mvoe guests unseen. The plan is simple: confirm the gallery, walk the route before dusk, and keep to agreed hand signs if the crowd thickens. If the gallery is the handoff point, Brenda won't be far. They pack a lamp, rope, salt, and a spare coat. When the clock chimes, they go.
Here we go, all four characters appear on here. There's some big challenges ahead on this large map, including the really nasty Human Hybrids, which damage you for each A and O you place in the current scenario. Can you make words without them? You'll be forced to find out, since you can't defeat a High Priest until all Hybrids are downed. Survive that gauntlet and you'll face down some Glutton Wights and Feast Keepers, both of are going to trickle away your sanity…
Dangerous Space: Archivist Four, Defuse Mission
When the Solar Church takes an interest in a junker, watch out. That usually means this ain’t no average dive. Good thing Sunshine has psionic abilities!
His Risk Taker skill can be really helpful here, allowing him to bump an unused die when marking a dangerous space. That’s key when trying to avoid putting a 1 or a 2 in the row or column of an active bomb. Unfortunately, these Elite Stowaway threats are going to annoy you on this map as well, since they trigger their ability when you roll a 1 on an evil dice to cause you to reroll your highest die. That’s going to be terrible if you reroll into more 1’s or 2’s…

Button Shy Game of the Week: A Dragon's Gift – Black & White Kickstarter Preview
High atop the mountain, a single dragon guards a peaceful village. Each year, the local craftspeople show the dragon their appreciation with a thoughtful gift. Help out by making sure each villager has what they need to craft that final gift!
It should come as no surprise by now, to those familiar with the Scott Almes line of Simple Solo games, that this is a short and brilliant puzzle of a solo game. You're trying to maximize your spatial build of the village in order to get resources near enough to craftspeople in order to fulfill their recipe and flip the card. Why, you ask? Because you need to get at least 9 of those crafted in order to win the game – plus you'll need to be planning ahead for your randomly-selected gift for the dragon that must be crafted at the very end (successfully or you lose!). Thankfully, you know what it will be for the game, but each time you play it could be a different one out of six possible gifts. Trust me, I'm not going to do this game justice. You won't want to miss this one.
