Roll and Rails
Welcome to the world of Roll and Rails, the world of rail development. Become the railway mogul and connect cities with iron roads. Ship goods, develop the towns to increase your resources. All of this accompanied with the clatter of train wheels and steam whistling.
Train game excitement meets roll-and-write in this little game. It reminds me a bit of Age of Steam in some of how the mechanics sound, and I like that you’re drafting from a pool of dice to use rather than just being completely stuck with how well you, as an individual, are rolling. Dice are used for actions and your specialist wheel, both of which will join together to help you build track and deliver good in order to score as many points as you can. If you enjoy games with a few sharp elbows for player interaction and tough decisions, even when dice are involved, you won’t want to sleep on this one.
Dungeon Pages Overland Adventures: Ribesh, Defiant Warcrafter
Ribesh has taken his knocks in his young life but always stood stronger as a result. Whenever counted out, the young warrior seemed to become even more energized.
Every month I get reminded about how much I love these new Dungeon Pages entries. For instance, with the excitement of the Side Quests, you’re encouraged to really lean into the boss’ ability of gaining +1 HP for each 3 you mark in his dungeon. Without that quest, no one in their right mind would use those 3’s if they could avoid it…but now you’ve got an incentive! Ribesh comes loaded with ways to avoid - or lean into - that challenge with his Elemental Fire, letting you add or subtract 1 from a die marked adjacent to a monster. However, his Runed Shield might encourage you to make a 3 into a 4…letting you ignore even more damage…
Dangerous Space: Archivist Four, Eliminate Mission
When the Solar Church takes an interest in a junker, watch out. That usually means this ain’t no average dive. Good thing Sunshine has psionic abilities!
Another new character enters the fray, and this one has quite the task ahead of him as he faces some pretty dangerous foes that manipulate dice results like crazy. From the Vigilant Pirate - your common enemy - who crosses out uncollected items when triggered by a 6, to the Elite Stowaway who make you re-roll your highest die when the evil dice roll a 1, you’ll need a lot of luck to pair with your skill in order to make it through this gauntlet. And if you make it to the Resentful Titan at the end, you’ll find he cannot be attacked with an odd number, plus he gets boosts to his defense if he has been attacked but not defeated. Talk about a tough mission!
Lazy Susan
In a lively Chinese restaurant, food enthusiasts compete to grab the tastiest dishes from the spinning Lazy Susan table. Each card is a delicious dish - from noodles to dim sum to roasted meats. Be quick, or your favorite dish will spin out of reach!
A fun little game where the lazy susan spins each round to determine which action each player gets to take, whether swapping food, stealing from someone else’s plate, or grabbing food from the table. Maneuver your timing well in order to gain Food Enthusiast cards, which are the timer of the game’s ending. With some good planning, you’ll be on your way to indulging in some excellent food to earn the victory.
Fly for Pie!
It’s family Sunday! Your grandmother promised to bake a delicious pie for you and your cousins, the Wondernauts! But she needs fresh berries. So she turns to you for help. Excited by the challenge, you grab your hang gliders and head out on an adventure through the skies. Your bird friends will be there too! You’ll soar over lush landscapes, searching for the sweetest berries to earn an extra slice of pie! But hurry! Dark clouds are gathering on the horizon, and a storm is brewing. You have to return before it hits, or risk losing all your berries!

Pickup and deliver games can be a ton of fun, and this one has rules that add a little tension in terms of timing, but otherwise feels pretty player-friendly in being able to make some smart choices as you fly around to gather berries. Use bird friends to your advantage, and with a little luck, you’ll draw the most lucrative cards to rack up the points and make it back before the storm hits. If you enjoy fairly easy-to-learn games with plenty of player competition for spots, this game is sure to have you flying high.

Game of the Week: Hunted: North Pole on sale for just $3!
Everyone was happily working on toys and getting ready for Christmas when all of a sudden Jack Frost and an army of minions showed up. They kidnapped Santa, scattered the elves, and are trying to ruin Christmas! Now, you’ll have to work your way through the North Pole and rescue Santa before Christmas is canceled…all while Jack Frost’s minions try to hunt you down…
A fun, hefty game that is perfect for this time of year. Who doesn’t want to be responsible for saving Christmas? A worthwhile addition to the Hunted line of games, this one will have you hooked from the first play in a game that is festive and fun. Juggle your health, and inventory of cards, track time, and race through to defeat Jack Frost and his minions before it is too late.

Battlecrest: Rin Mana, Hero Set
The mystic hermit Rin Mana has spent their entire lifetime unraveling the secrets of reality itself. Long years of isolation have distorted their moral compass even as their mind expanded with world-warping power. Now they crusade to remake the Neververse according to their own inscrutable principles.
A new hero enters the fray, boasting a lot of great abilities in their toolkit. The most interesting, of course, comes from the star ability, allowing them to trigger the landmark and boosting its bonus by the number of their Perfect Focus symbols. Timing that effectively can make for some huge boosts to attack, movement, or defense to fit your needs. If you already love Battecrest, you won’t want to skip adding this new hero into the fold.
