Transcribe: The Art of Alchemy
For millennia alchemy was practiced across the world. A combination of philosophy, chemistry, metallurgy, mysticism, and astrology. Alchemists aspired to understand the inner workings of the natural world, conducting dangerous experiments to unlock its secrets. Continue this tradition as you undertake your Magnum Opus [great work] to craft the philosopher’s stone; by charting the heavens, harnessing the elements, and mastering the ancient art of alchemy. Race against your fellow alchemists to craft the philosopher’s stone and claim your place as the most renowned alchemist of the age.
An interesting game of roll-and-move along a grid, trying to gather the Processes along your board to unlock your Magnum Opus. While hitting that end trigger first might be helpful, there’s plenty of reason to play the longer game since there will be additional turns based on how many unmarked Processes are still on that player’s board when they get there. If you like some shifting strategy in a format that looks promising in having replay value in a roll-and-write game, you’ll definitely want to check this one out this week.
Chateau
You are the architect of a beautiful historical landmark. Construct your Chateau by simultaneously placing shapes on your blueprint. Each player has a unique Chateau, with a special bonus to use to their advantage. The first player to mark off all spaces in their Chateau wins the game!
A fun little roll-and-write game of filling in boards that are different than anyone else at the table, each with their own player power as well. Be the first to fill in your entire board in order to be the victor, which might be a little tricky with the polyomino shapes you’re using. However, things like marking off hammer spaces will help, letting you mark off any other space on your board every time you fill in one of those hammers.
Dangerous Space: Jareem, Rescue Mission
His father was 1st in his class. Some would say due to the species’ longer lifespan. Still, expectations are high for young Rendor.
This is the mission where the Clever Leech may wreak havoc on your plans, since you sacrifice all odd dice in your pool when you mark a space diagonal to it. Considering time is of the essence in the Rescue mission, that can really hamper your plans by forcing you into combat rather than trying to circumvent the threat. Thankfully, his Shortcut skill should come into use here, letting you ignore the highest value in your path when calculating time. Be sure to put that Hawk Rifle to work, firing away at those Leeches as quickly as you can, shaving as much time as possible!

Game of the Week: Gem Getter Galactic on sale for just $2!
In Gem Getter Galactic, you and your friends run competing asteroid mines. Uncover the riches of deep space and balance the unique scoring conditions of each gem to become the gettingest Gem Getter in the galaxy!
A fun little roll-and-write with polyomino shapes being placed onto an asteroid mine. Each round players will only use one of the two patterns that match the dice rolled for the turn, drawing in the shape adjacent to another shape. The more gems you cover with these shapes, the better your points will be, and there’s bonuses available for filling rows, columns, and surrounding the unbreakable boulders in your mine. Collect elements to boost your scoring by having complete sets, and grab things like Uranium for special abilities to activate. With 8 unique asteroid maps, a campaign to explore, and more, you won’t want to miss out on Gem Getter Galactic.

Battlecrest: Kivani Hero Set
Kivani first discovered her telepathic abilities as a child, when an alien ship crash-landed near her home. Befriending the wounded creature that crawled from the wreckage, Nessa, they became lifelong companions, connected at all times through their psionic circlets. With Kivani’s brains and Nessa’s brawn, they can take on anyone.
A fun little hero set, Kivani has some really good range in her toolkit, and benefits from either having Nessa adjacent to her, or adjacent to the enemy. Finding a way to make the two of them work together in harmony can make her a threat to nearly any foe that comes her way. This set comes with everything you need to use her as a hero, or to fight against her using an Imperator AI.
Battlecrest: Andmar Hero Set
The dhampir Andmar - half human, half vampire - has long succumbed to her monstrous nature. Channeling ancient sorcery, she cleaved her very soul in two to spawn Daema, a nightmarish reflection of Andmar’s true self. Though they are split apart, these blood-thirsty fiends think and hunt as one.
Another fun hero to add into your Battlecrest mix, she definitely wants to be up-close to the enemy more often than not. Being able to Fly for some of her movement helps there, but the real star here is from her minion, Daema. This minion allows Andmar to use the map bonuses that Daema is touching, potentially allowing a pair of bonuses to apply to a single action. There’s a lot of planning that might need to take place to pull it off, but it sure would feel fun to get a double bonus to an attack or defense.
