Contubernium - Rome at War

The contubernium (latin for ‘tenting-together’) was the smallest subunit of the Roman legions and consisted of eight legionaries or ‘contubernales’ who camped, cooked, marched, and fought together. They were brothers in arms and often saw collective reward or punishment for their feats in battle. Will your contubernales be able to achieve greatness?

An interesting game of managing rolls, resources, and having your units survive as long as possible. Time the playing of action cards to alter the course of battles, trigger abilities on your legionary with the dice being rolled, and push your units to survive until the bitter end. I love how the game doesn’t require you to defeat every enemy to succeed (obviously, they do provide a better score if you kill most of them…), but rather about doing enough to offset the unpredictability of chance that comes your way. If you love solo games that will test your skills, look no further than this one.

The Lost Village - Woodland Rites

It's like the very forest has gone mad: bizarre cults chant forgotten rites among the trees, awakening the most hideous mistakes of nature. The scaretales we have heard in our childhood about the forest have become reality... and now the menace stepped out of the woods to reach our village.

A small expansion to The Lost Village, this adds some extra cards as well as some new special rules to your gameplay experience. The Possessed is a new card which, if it gets replaced or goes to the Warehouse, it will instead go to Town Hall and cause damage. The Dark Covenant is a card with a Hero cardback, but is really a monster that you can defeat in order to remove it from the game. In short, if you love the Lost Village, this is a recommended expansion to grab!

Laser Cut

It all began when you cleared that first row. You’ve been chasing the dopamine rush of a well-placed polyomino ever since. Tetrominoes led to pentminoes, and soon even they weren’t enough. Now obsession has led you to buy an expensive laser cutter to create hexominoes for your latest game design. Unfortunately, the bundled software is finicky, and after several failed attempts, you’re left with a single busted-up sheet of acrylic. If you can cut twenty unique hexominoes and a first player token, it might all be worth it!

If you want an interesting, unique theme relevant to the hobby, look no further than Laser Cut. You’re using dice to form unique hexominoes on a sheet of acrylic, and must maximize your efficiency to win this solo game. Not only are you using 120 of the 121 squares to make the shapes you need, they also need to all be different AND must touch an edge of an existing shape you’ve cut. This little brain-melter of a puzzle is sure to both frustrate (in a good way!) and delight you when it hits the table.

Dungeon Pages: Underboss - Horror Vampire, Hogglebottom

Isss, thisss what you thought you’d find? Wassss it worthhhh it? Now, at your end, do you see why you should have let me be?

It’s here! Take your Horror Vampire and defend three unique locations within the town of Hogglebottom as your quest to become the supreme underboss is underway! Deploy your Underlings to boost evil dice later, plant some Plants which will spread as the heroes defeat them, and lay traps like the Razor Spring to damage those pesky heroes. Make use of your unique skills, like Intimidate to slow down the heroes by making them Fear you, which will lead to a more effective use of your Terrify skill. What an exciting experience this is going to be!

Battle Pages: Kingdom of Jendohan, Marching Order 2

Riders of the Pegasi have been fierce defenders from invaders for generations.

Thanks to the holidays we’re hitting BOTH the hero and the villain together in one. Kharv is here to lead your armies, and the really cool thing about him is that he can attack the same enemy multiple times in one turn. That’s really, really helpful to prioritize threats and taking out the most irritating or devastating ones as quickly as you can. He’s facing down the army lead by the Twin Dragons, which has two spawned bosses. With Flying. They are fierce, targeting all units in its row and column, they hit hard, and both must be defeated to win. Good luck!

GRIMLORE: Profane Truths - Case File Drawer #3 (2025 Q3 Collection)

Turn the latch. Summon your nerve. The vault yawns wide, spilling out the third cache of eldritch investigations for GRIMLORE: Profane Truths, the solo print-and-play puzzle RPG where cosmic horror, dice manipulation, and word-building entwine like inked tentacles across the page. This Q3 Case File Drawer binds Case Files 26–38 into one haunted folio. Each file stands alone, but threads tighten between them, introducing untrustworthy patrons, new investigators with sharpened tools, and a constellation that will not stop whispering your name. Roll the bones, bend fate, stack letters into sense (or sacrilege), and keep the doom from spelling your last word.

If you managed to spend all of 2025 holding off on picking up GRIMLORE, or if you joined in midway through the year, this is your perfect opportunity to gain months of content in a single purchase. This comes with the third complete set of case files for GRIMLORE, letting you catch a ton of scenarios to play in one single purchase and download. Jump on in and see what the GRIMLORE greatness was all about! You won’t regret the value in this one bundle, packed with great puzzles and excellent writing.

Button Shy Game of the Week: Desert Pack

It’s a sweltering summer in the desert and you are on the hunt. Food is so scarce that you must invade another pack’s territory to steal some of theirs. If your pack gets too tired, you may have to go home empty-handed. Can you outwit the other coyotes and survive the heat?

A fascinating little card game of both bluffing and manipulating cards while keeping things hidden. This gem is bound to get your table howling - whether in rage or in laughter is up to you - and you won’t want to pass on this one. Manage your coyote health well, invade with precision when the time comes for you to go on the offensive, and make great decisions on when to use a coyote to defend and when to have them rest to try and maximize your scoring while minimizing your opponents’ chances.

Game of the Week: 9-Card Rally Run on sale for just $4!

"You against the clock, your car against the road.

One driver, one car, one goal.

Buckle up it's time for the Rally Run!"

Put the pedal to the metal and get ready to race around the track. This one has an interesting feature with the dice, with the value indicating the lane you get to move into. Of course there’s rerolls, but you must utilize a die from the previous roll first - meaning you can sometimes mitigate things, but you might also have to be flexible with your approach. A fast, fun little game that offers a lot of small decisions to help it feel like a really satisfying experience when it hits the table.
