Dragon Hero

Floating high above the ground are the evil sky prisons that track down and trap any dragon they can find. Now there are only 3 free Dragons left: The Fire Dragon, Water Dragon, and Thunder Dragon. Can you be the Dragon Hero and help free your dragon friends?

A short and rules-light puzzle of a game as you are moving dragons around the castles in order to line them up with the matching symbol. If you do so, the dragon is freed. Free all 3 dragons and you win, and can try again adding even more castles to the map in order to increase the difficulty. How high can you bump up the challenge and still succeed to let the dragons loose within the 9 movement cards?

Spooky Forest

Are you ready to dive into the eerie, enchanting world of Spooky Forest? This simple yet strategic "tile-placement" (more like a flip-and-write to be honest) game will have you racing to achieve the top score while navigating through a haunted woodland. Think of yourself as the city planner for the local spooky forest. It's a living, amirite? Or is it non-living…

A fun little flip-and-write game where you are trying to make it so you can fill in all 16 squares on the board by the time you’ve flipped all 16 cards. The catch? The new icon drawn must NOT be placed orthogonally adjacent to the most recent icon you drew…unless it is a rock. So you can see how tricky things can be, forcing you to be both quick-on-your-feet to adapt to what you see as well as trying to plan ahead that optimal route letting you get everything played. Score your game at the end to see how you did, and if you enjoyed this but dislike the randomness then…

Spooky Forest: Puzzle Mode

…you’ll want to pick this up as well. It pairs with Spooky Forest, but has a preset listing of when the things appear. This may let you know when to expect those pesky rocks, but don’t think it’ll be easy to rack up those high scores! You’ll find that sometimes things don’t quite play out as smooth as you intended…unless you’re a much smarter person than I am. This mode comes with 54 different puzzle cards, giving you plenty of opportunity to explore the game in various ways.

Dangerous Space: Geida, Commandeer Mission

Geida was always the sidekick until her entire team got ‘wiped’ in a faulty training exercise. Now she goes solo on all missions.

Geida is well-suited to run this gauntlet as a solo mission, with plenty of movement gear upgrades she can learn as well as a really helpful Skill to unlock to boost a die each round. The toughest thing about this is that the numbers need to match on two side of each lever, and then the same number also needs to appear in one of the four special spaces in the Crew Quarters. Whether needing a little luck, a whole lotta skill, or a little of both, you’ll find plenty to keep you busy this week as you run Geida through this mission.

Overland Adventures: Deyli, Gifted Sharpshooter

Hey, it’s Jason G here with a quick snippet about this month’s new Overland Adventures character. Enjoy!

Deyli has lots of friends, starting with her oak bow, which she named Princess. Plus, the seven unique shafts she calls Tia, Karl, Gavin, Perin, Oosha, Dig and Molly.

This robin is definitely no one's sidekick. As a matter of fact, she brings her own team to the fight in the form of trick arrows (she even names them!).

Grabbing items in the dungeons should be no problem with this archer's access to the Elemental Air ability. Hope you enjoy our feathered friend.

Game of the Week: Four Against Darkness - All Products Discounted

Four Against Darkness is a solitaire dungeon-delving game. No miniatures are needed. All you need is the book, a pencil, two six-sided dice, and grid paper.

You choose four character types from the classic classes (warrior, wizard, rogue, halfling, dwarf, barbarian, cleric, elf), equip them, and start adventuring in dungeons created by dice rolls and your choices. When you enter a room, you generate its content on a series of random tables. You will meet monsters, fight them, hopefully defeat them (or decide that discretion is the better part of valor!), you’ll manage your resources (healing, spells, life points, equipment), grab treasure, dodge traps, find clues, and even accept quests from the monsters you meet. Your characters can level up and become better at what they do, but it will not be easy.

You’ve seen plenty of Four Against Darkness, even if you’re a recent subscriber to PNP Arcade. There’s no better time than now to expand your collection, as everything is discounted this week. Grab a core book, some supplements, some new quests, and more to build your own 4AD library - or just grab one or two that calls to you the most to get your journey started. With so much content out already, plus more coming regularly, there will be a near-endless supply of new things to try for the foreseeable future - and there’s not too many games you can say that about!

Button Shy Game of the Week: Rove Jr.

Even the most advanced ROVE (Results-Oriented Versatile Explorer) needs a bit of training before it can tackle a trip to outer space. Practice your skills on this course to see how far you can get!

Tackle another version of ROVE, this one packed with delightful artwork. If you think the task will be a cakewalk due to the Jr. part of the name…think again! There is still plenty of challenge as you try to manipulate cards around to match 7 different missions. Plus there are ways to up your challenge based on the number of cards in your hand, and abilities for each module that you can trigger once per game. If you have little ones at home, or just want a colorful version of ROVE for your collection, you won’t want to miss this one.
