Deck 52: Final Bus
A short and furious war has wiped civilization from the face of the Earth. You remain alive. You’ve found a miraculously preserved bus in which you now travel the dangers of the radioactive wastelands. You’re heading to a safe haven you’ve heard about on “DECK 52”, a looping radio broadcast. Now stuck in an unknown territory, you must collect vital resources to continue on your way.
A fun little game continuing the DECK 52 series of games. If you haven’t checked them out before, there’s no better time to get a little sample of the gameplay that awaits you in this solo adventure. Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to complete three objectives before you suffer too much damage or end up in an unwinnable state. What I really like, too, is that there’s a Campaign option to run a sequence of missions until you reach Deck 52. Don’t miss out on these really solid, fun designs from DECK 52.
Battle Pages: Kingdom of Hellenburg, Marching Order #4
There’s a saying in town - if Hellenburg folks didn’t have bad luck, they’d have no luck at all!
We’re back for a final trip to Hellenburg, and this time we are looking at the recruitable units for your side. There’s only five of them, and of course the Archer and Pegasus are both really useful to help target/counter flying units on the enemy side. I love that the Spy lets you target any enemy to the left in its row, meaning you can drop them on the edge and let them go to work. The Armory is a new unit this week, which buffs adjacent units to deal +1 damage. Beware, though, as your Knight is a Valleyfolk, meaning you’re going to want to avoid putting them into the mountains if you can avoid it, since they cost more there.
Power Creep: Bohdan, The Docks 2113
A figure walks through the streets at night. The few who’ve escaped its gaze tell strange stories of its power.
If you felt like Bohdan has had it fairly easy with his series of threats compared to some of the other characters, then this week is here to change your mind. Face down the Dark Tentacles as you venture through Bookstores, Movie Theaters, Pet Stores, and Cathedrals to try and get the power back up and running. However, these tentacles are here to hamper your efforts, since they require you to either discard an unused die or take damage when marking next to them. And since they take 2-3 damage to kill, you’re going to trigger that multiple times to take out each tentacle along the way. Hope you can collect those Medpacks…you’re going to need them this week!
Dangerous Space: Geida, Repair Mission
Geida was always the sidekick until her entire team got ‘wiped’ in a faulty training exercise. Now she goes solo on all missions.
Geida is back and ready to tackle this mission to repair The Hammerhead. Of course, the holes in the ship are a little less devastating to her, as she already has a good upgrade tree for attack that boosts range, plus her Crackshot skill adds to that even more. The leaks are going to be her foe here, reducing that movement value which makes your choice of movement upgrades even harder: flexibility of direction, or potential for slightly higher movement value when you need it. Either way, she’s locked and loaded and ready to take on this week’s mission.
GRIMLORE Case File #31: Elias Blackwood, Mythos Geologist
After the unspeakable horrors at Lake’s Antarctic camp, Elias Blackwood swore off expedition work. But when an ancient cartouche surfaced – bearing symbols nearly identical to those found on Elder murals beneath the ice, he knew the Mythos reached further than he’d feared. Drawn to Egypt by a convergence of dreams, disappearances, and forbidden texts, Elias suspects the entity beneath the pyramids shares ancestry with the Old Ones. This time, he comes prepared. Ice taught him silence; sand will teach him surrender, or resistance. The Elder things sleep differently here, and they remember names.
This week we have an interesting theme, taking Elias into the desert for an Egyptian test. He comes equipped with tools to help him, such as a Gilded Desert Revolver or the Eldritch Compass, each of them he must utilize as best as possible in order to overcome the challenge before him. The Shifting Mask is a good/bad combo for the big boss, as it makes you run a test when it triggers on a 6, and there’s a benefit to pass…but also some really powerful negative effects if you fail. Which will you learn from the sands: surrender, or resistance?
GRIMLORE: Profane Truths – Case File Drawer #1 (2025 Q1 Collection)
GRIMLORE Profane Truths is an episodical print-and-play word-finding and dice-manipulation game with role-playing aspects. In every case file, you try to fill several scenarios with letters to form dictionary words to progress in the story and defeat your opponents. As you progress, the character that you represent gains more knowledge and equipment to help them in their case.
If you’ve been holding off on picking up GRIMLORE, or if you joined in midway through the year, this is your perfect opportunity to gain months of content in a single purchase. This comes with the first 12 case files for GRIMLORE, letting you catch a ton of scenarios to play in one single purchase and download. Jump on in and see what the GRIMLORE greatness is all about!

Game of the Week: Aqua ROVE on sale for just $2!
Sometimes even the familiar can be alien. As a ROVE (Results-Oriented Versatile Explorer) you are accustomed to the rigors of space, but the impenetrable darkness of the ocean depths is a brand-new challenge to confront.
A fun little puzzle of a game that will feel very familiar in the basics to those who have played the original ROVE game. However, familiarity with the first game is not required at all to play and enjoy this one. You’ll be moving cards around in a grid to perfectly match the designated pattern, and you’ll need to complete 7 of them in order to win the game. Cards will let you move your grid around, push cards along the way, and more as you manipulate things time and again to seek after victory. Will you be able to venture into the depths of the ocean, or will you need to go back to the kiddie pool? Dive on in and find out for yourself!
