Helix
In Helix, your goal is to build and manipulate Sequences in order to create and collect Genes.
With a simple turn structure, this little competitive game will see you manipulating your cards by playing a card from your hand, resolving the Codons which includes triggering Actions on their first card, and scoring Genes. Thankfully, those Genes get removed upon scoring, which means you're constantly going to be assessing your sequence and trying to maximize what you can accomplish each and every turn. If you love thinky little card games with a spatial element, you won't want to miss this one.
Tape Jam: Off the Record! Expansion
Tape Jam: Off the Record brings players new decisions to their games of Tape Jam. It introduces 4 new action cards, that can be picked by players to perform a unique action. But be quick or another player takes the action card you want.
This little expansion adds action cards, which can be used instead of taking a numbered card on your turn. These do things like changing the position or rotation of some cards in your display, but can also really mix things up by shuffling every card on the table into the deck. Talk about a mixed reaction! This is sure to add some extra content to your Tape Jam experience that will have you hitting rewind to play it again and again.
Battle Pages: Kingdom of Scar Lake, Marching Order 3
An ancient rock from the sky created the pool that now holds enchanted blessings.
We’re back defending Scar Lake, and this time we’ll look at the six enemies you might find yourself facing as you battle. There are two Goblin Bombers, which are brutal for two reasons: they deal a damage to adjacent units when spawning, and their attack hits all adjacent units. The Northern Bear is similar in its attack, hitting all adjacent units, but it is harder to kill when in the mountains. Giants also target adjacent units, but they are even harder to kill since they ignore the first attack received each turn. However, the pair of Giant Bats are going to be what frustrates you. Not only can they only be attacked by you Archer or Mortecai, but they also defeat your units when they damage them…
Power Creep: Antoine – City Center 2125
With word spreading of an apparent Creep vulnerability, a new surge of hope is spreading!
Are you ready to tackle the City Center this week with Antoine? You may think you are, but the Hivemind Bikers will have you reconsidering that decision. They have an interesting ability, in that when you mark a space next to them, you mark that same number -1 next to a different biker. With a healthy 5 defense, that means you may end up using that to try and help you gather resources rather than to kill off another biker. Unfortunately, that Leader is going to really annoy you as he reduces all Good Dice by 1, again making it a real challenge to damage these things...
Dangerous Space: Will Tensin, Quarantine Mission
Will, the more brash of the Tensin brothers, is happy to dive blind for the sheer surprise and chaos that ensues. Deathwish?
Will is back again and ready to take on the quarantine within the Decomissioned Battleship. Like the previous week, he doesn't really have a ton of dice manipulation of his own, or from his Threats, to make this a complete chess match of a mission. However, you will want to make sure you plan well enough to survive, locking down at least a 1 in each corridor as you move from room to room unless you really want to instantly lose once you get to the pair of Command rooms at the end.
GRIMLORE Profane Truths – Case File #42: Mireille Dupont, Mythos Investigator
Mireille Dupont,a Louvre conservator turned reluctant investigator, learned that certain relics do not suffer catalogues; they demand caretakers, or offerings. Her first case dragged her beneath tides and hymns, leaving a locket that warms when lies approach and a habit of listening to shadows. Now a Montparnasse painter has vanished after a midnight game: a candle, a circle of black salt, a name on folded paper nicked with blood. Paris whispers that a figure visits at twelve and leaves people smaller, altered, misnamed. Mireille intends to misname it first, and keep her own. She brings chalk, salt, and stubborn hope.
I know I've mentioned it a few times before, but I love the flavor that these GRIMLORE cases provide each and every week. How epic does it sound: a monster that misnames people, and a quest to misname it first. Mireille has her work cut out for her, as this Midnight Man will have her dropping in attributes quickly if the dice go its way, and possibly causing you to remove letters from its lanes. How fitting, right? Prepare that pouch of Black Salt and let the battle of words and wits begin.

Button Shy Game of the Week: Wonder Tales: Magic & Mayhem Expansion
This expansion unleashes magical spells and mystical items into your Wonder Tales...
Two cards, 12 unique items that can spice up your gameplay of this excellent little game. Two items are chosen by the players prior to the game starting, and you can use an item at most once per round. The way those two items alternate makes it fascinating, since you are not only choosing an item to assist your gameplay, but it will also help them at least once during the three rounds. These items are game changers in the best way possible, adding chaos into an already sharp gameplay experience.

Game of the Week: Wonder Tales on sale for just $2!
A collection of old fairy tales has been torn apart. Pages from different stories are all mixed together and strewn about. Can you find the connections between the scattered characters to put their stories back together? Reunite the characters in clever ways to win the game!
A puzzly, tile-laying game about fairy tale creatures which children will delight to recognize. The cards are double-sided with the same character on each side, but different colored highlights. Players try to position the grid so that the right combinations of characters/colors are adjacent to their cards to gain the most points. This is pure, unabashed fun to figure out how to place your card on the grid in order to maximize your scoring potential without gifting them points or closing off future possibilities. My wife and I reach for this one regularly, and it’s always a treat when it hits the table.
