The Pawn’s Gambit is a chess-inspired card game of strategy, adaptability, and tactics. Each round, players battle to seize control of Imbalance Cards and disrupt their opponents’ Played Pieces to their advantage.
There are three types of cards:
Opening Cards: Each illustrated with a fictional medieval character, representing the spirit of the respective classic chess opening. Your chosen opening sets your strategy for the round and grants unique abilities to shape your approach.
Piece Cards: Reflecting traditional chess pieces, these are played according to your chosen strategy and serve as resources to perform actions throughout the game.
Imbalance Cards: Illustrated with medieval warfare motifs, these cards create shifting conditions that affect your played Piece Cards. Players can use Game Actions to align favorable Imbalance Cards with their played pieces.
Objective: Outmaneuver your opponents and achieve checkmate by winning two rounds or be the last player standing with a surviving king.
