Guards & Goblins
In Guards & Goblins, you’re the chief of a village under siege by goblins intent on ravaging your homes. With the help of brave guards stationed throughout the area, your mission is clear: exterminate the goblin menace and protect your village at all costs.
A fast-playing solo game where you’re placing down a card and then drawing a new one. Within those parameters, you’re looking to align guards around goblins and hobgoblins in order to wipe them from the map. If you succeed in clearing them all, you win. If even one survives, you’ve failed and lose. While you’re able to overlap/underlap cards as you place them, those goblins and hobgoblins cannot be covered, meaning you really need to try and plan out your placements. Fans of games like Sprawlopolis and Squire for Hire will enjoy the puzzly aspect of putting down the cards effectively in order to win.
The Sin-Eater
Your last mission was a failure. The Sin-Eater Station has activated. Its purpose: To devour all matter in the universe. Time is short. Your ship, a patchwork relic of better days, must gather three sets of biodata from doomed colonies and escape to the Genesis Loom in Sector 21. There, this precious cargo will be launched into a parallel universe, offering life as you know it one final chance to endure.
A fun little solo game with TTRPG elements requiring the use of a full set of polyhedral dice, this one will have you exploring in ONE direction across the map. Why only one? Because as you leave each space, it gets consumed by the Sin-Eater! Plan out your movements as you reach three spots on the map before venturing to the final location to bring an end to the game. Beware, though, as encounters abound even in the dark depths of space. Can you survive long enough to help humanity have a second chance within the universe?
GRIMLORE: Case File #3
In the rural countryside of Europe, Black Lake, notorious for its eerie, otherworldy qualities, looms with a dark reputation. Infamous for strange occurrences, including bizarre weather patterns, unusual flora and fauna, and inexplicable transformations, the lake remains shrouded in mystery. Lukas Miller, a local geologist in his early forties, returns to his childhood village near Black Lake. Known for his logical mind and scientific approach, Lukas is determined to uncover the truth behind the strange phenomena scientifically, driven by a desire to demystify the secrets of this enigmatic place.
This one is going to potentially frustrate you, because the Awakened cannot be killed until all the Tainted Wolves are killed, and there’s a fair number of those throughout the map! Add to that the Weird Wildlife, which reduces your investigator die if you were hurt by them in the previous turn, and you have a recipe for some interesting puzzles throughout the map. Can you get through successfully with Lukas? I’m not optimistic about my own chances…
Moon Ark
Alert! Alert! We have been unable to stop the asteroid. Impact is imminent! All we can do now is EVACUATE THE PLANET. As air support for the Anti-Extinction Squad, it’s your job to help the ground teams pick up the last few animals before the asteroid hits. Be warned - the job is a dangerous one. The first meteorites are already striking the planet and setting our beautiful forests aflame, and poachers roam the ruined land, trying to claim the animals for themselves. We can’t allow this to happen. WIth your ship, displacement beam, and containment pods, you’re ready to support the ground team with the evacuation and airlift the animals to safety. Now, to your ship! Do what you can and come back safely to the MOON ARK!
A game that lets you make moves to try and feel clever, you’re going to be manipulating the cards in the deck to arrange the animals into their proper containment pods. The caveat is that the herbivores need to be placed behind their pod, while carnivores need to be in front of it. With each animal you remove, the deck thins out making it potentially easier to shift the cards into position. However, beware! Those carnivores might just eat that herbivore near them if you aren’t paying close enough attention!
Trickadee
Trickadee is a trick-taking game about spotting the cool birds that visit your backyard feeder. Create flocks each round by collecting birds from every trick - win or lose. Use unique actions to cleverly build those flocks and win the title of best birder on the block.
This is a clever new approach to trick-taking - at least to me it is! You’re getting cards from every trick, building flocks with them to score points as well as trying to get end game scoring through those bird you’ve collected. The position you finish in each trick determines your order in picking the card from the trick to add to your area, and you can use Seed tokens to trigger special abilities as well. This adds some interesting dynamics to consider apart from the standard “how can I win this trick?” approach to each hand.
Power Creep: Scarab, The Docks 2090
In 2090, the raiders have pressed the settlers to the max. These resource excursions are more important than ever.
Another fun and new level layout here, reverting back to just two Leaders across the four buildings. These threats are devious! When they trigger, they are going to cross out numbers in your structure equal to your Evil dice, so you’re going to want to beat those Looters and Leaders down quickly. The good thing is that the Pet Store, which you might want to start with, is such a small building to help you build some positive momentum.
Dangerous Space: Karly, Quarantine Mission
Karly is cutting for the big payday. The one score that sets her up for life. If it doesn’t kill her first.
Another new mission type for the year, this one is less about specific numbers around a certain space and more about the presence of a specific number. If the attached corridor doesn’t have a 1 marked when you enter a new room, you increase Evil Dice for the room. And, of course, this brings a new way to lose: rolling 4+ Evil Dice in a room. This makes things like Combat Expert a little tougher, although you usually want higher when marking by threats, but you also don’t want to boost your lowest numbers until you can make use of them.

Game of the Week: Two-Minute Warning on sale for just $13!
The clock is ticking down… Two-minute warning. No time-outs left. It’s the grand finale of the Global Football League Championship. The odds may be stacked against you, but the game is far from over. Will you rise to the challenge? Will you seize the opportunity and lead your team to a legendary victory? You’ve got two minutes to turn the tide, two minutes to carve your name in the annals of history. Brace yourself for an epic showdown on the field!
A game driven by a deck of playing cards, keywords, and your ability to construct an evolving narrative of the plays based on how the cards flip. A slick, smooth system based in parts around matching suits, and at other times about having the higher card than the opposing side in order to make the desired progress. There’s also a virtual way to play, which removes the need to have a deck of playing cards if that happens to be something you don’t have lying around. The game promises tense, exciting gameplay that will certainly pull through provided you enjoy crafting the experiences in your mind based upon the results you see. This is a perfect time to get into a game like this, pulling it out on the weekends to run your own end-of-game heroics while watching your favorite teams play.

Circle the Wagons: Second Shot
Each player in Circle the Wagons is fiin’ to build up their own boomtown, but only one’ll build the best in the West!
Circle the Wagons is my own most-played Button Shy title, so I’m excited to see how the new scoring cards change up the dynamics in the game. I’ve always loved the approach of drafting the card you want, and the ones you skip past in the queue go to your opponent. Depending on the scoring goal, you can skip cards to hinder the opposing player, or you can just jump ahead to grab that perfect card you need even though it might help the other player in the process. With 3 objectives plus 6 terran types to score each game, there’s lots of things to juggle in a small package.
Circle the Wagons: Lone Cowboy
Put your skills to the test against a wily opponent in the solo expansion for Circle the Wagons.
Put your drafting skills to work against the opponent in Lone Cowboy, which provides 18 different priority drafting conditions and new scoring conditions for your opponent. With relatively easy-to-navigate parameters, as well as some challenging scores to overcome, you’ll find plenty of plays within this set of 18 cards to bring about even more value to your copy of Circle the Wagons.
