Cosmoira
With only a standard deck of cards and a set of evocative prompts, you and your fellow players take on the roles of primordial gods, shaping the birth and fate of a world of your own creation.
From the first spark of existence to the terraforming of continents, you’ll guide your gods through the rise and fall of ages: forging dramatic alliances and rivalries, creating avatars and wonders, enduring cataclysms that reshape the land, and populating it with elder beings before passing it on to mortal kin.
Your story carries the world to the twilight before its “First Age” — the dawn of the modern era — leaving behind a map, a myth, and a legacy entirely unique to your table.
Hands up if you’ve ever wanted to go deeper with your worldbuilding, whether for writing a story or crafting your own world for an RPG campaign? With this Mythmaker tool, and a deck of cards, you can do just that while allowing your imagination to run wild, guided by some crafted prompts and events that can take place. Whether you want to run through things as a fun creative exercise, or make something that others can enjoy, you won’t want to miss out on this one and the creative juices it can help get flowing.
Battle Pages: Kingdom of Oolar, Marching Order 3
Masters of glasswork with magical properties.
If you thought the Ruby Sorceress was sinister with her region-locking powers, you’re going to really love her minions. We’ve talked about the irritation of Giant Bats before, and they are back. Skeletons are annoying because they not only target all adjacent units, but can respawn when killed. The Orc Raiders target all units in its row, which makes them really tough to deal with. But worst of all is the pair of Giants, who not only target all adjacent units (makes sense!), but also ignore the first attack they receive each turn. They are big, they hit hard, and are tough to take down - meaning they have a giant target on them when they appear as you won’t want to let them trample unchecked through your kingdom.
Power Creep: Peter, City Center 2116
Society has fractured, possibly for good. If there is to be recovery it will have to come from those with memories of the past.
Usually in Power Creep, you are able to complete the structures in whatever order you desire. Want to jump right into the hardest one first (based on evil dice quantity), go right ahead. Well, this week you might want to be a little smarter with how you approach things. Sure, the Trance Cultist is pretty mean, making you discard a Good Die that matches an Evil Die. But that’s nothing compared to the leader, who has an attack value equal to all undefeated Cultists in all structures. That means, from the first roll, they could drop 7 damage if you go into one of their structures. I think I’d rather wait, take out the pair of 2-cultist structures that lacks a leader, and then tackle the last two areas…
Dangerous Space: Dint, Quarantine Mission
Dint’s studies in advanced astrophysics have sadly gone to waste as of late, but as soon as he has enough credits…see ya!
Dint is back in action again this week to work his way through the quarantine. In case you’ve forgotten, or are new to Dangerous Space, this means after he enters a new room he has to check the attached corridors and, if there isn’t a 1 in there, he adds an Evil Die to the new room. If, by chance, any single room gets to 4+ Evil Dice, you lose. So you’re going to want to roll high, sure, to defeat the baddies with their defense. But you also might have to bide some time to make sure you get at least one low roll to add in there before moving on.
GRIMLORE Profane Truths - Case File #34: Amelia Hartwell, Mythos Historian
Amelia Hartwell never speaks of the dreams that began after Providence. They pulse now, in German tongues and broken screams. Summoned by a letter sealed in dried blood, she arrives in Duesseldorf, where sleepwalkers vanish and the Rhine runs darker than ink. Locals whisper of Der Blutfuerst, a killer lost to history, or merely hiding. But Amelia knows this isn’t resurrection. It’s echo. The walls hum with it. Something ancient wore Kuerten’s skin and it may wear another still. Her tools are cold. Her breath fogs in empty rooms. The city remembers. And what memory feeds on, it must soon release.
Amelia has some tough tests ahead, which is exactly what you’d expect when up against this ancient horror. She needs to come prepared, as the Herr Wechsel threats carry Armor Piercing weapons, and they also test you to where you might clear an attribute slot for failure. The big baddie is able to do the same thing in causing you to clear Mythos Knowledge slots and can lock you from placing a letter in his lanes this turn. Thankfully, there are spots on the map where Amelia is able to heal life force and sanity as she moves through things this week. Good luck chasing down Kurten!

Button Shy Game of the Week: The Perfect Moment Expansions x 4: _______ Gone Wrong…
Suddenly, a portal opens up and someone walks through it. Not just anyone, but you. Before you can say anything, the other you says, “Shut up and listen. This is a time machine. You know what you have to do.” Your mind immediately goes back to the one event that you always wished that you could have changed.
One of the coolest aspects of this game is the two halves of each card, aligned differently, presenting each player with a half of the card they can use to trigger abilities. Not only can you use the card in front of your appointment, but you can also score something from their score pile if they didn’t meet enough of the card’s scoring condition initially. This presents a tense push-pull effect as you both jockey to get enough points to win. The slew of expansions each a new color of cards to replace one of the colors in the base game, allowing you to really maximize your replay variety without altering a single rule of the gameplay.

Game of the Week: Buds & Blooms on sale for just $2!
Rival gardeners compete to see who can grow the best flowers for the annual flower show. Will your sunflowers be spectacular or simply second-rate? Will your marigolds be magnificent or merely mediocre? Whoever grows the tallest and most attractive flowers will be awarded Best in Show!
Mark Tuck is a brilliant designer of small games for a small number of players, and this one promises to be no exception. Plant and grow your buds into flowers to maximize your points, but depending on the soil it is planted in you’ll have to pay attention to things like color, numerical value, and more. A clever thinky game that’ll have you ready to exercise your green thumb once the winter months are over. If you enjoy games solo or with one other person, this is not a game you’ll be looking to prune from your collection any time soon.
