It's New Game Friday David Wiley (Cardboard Clash) is here to tell us about the new games.

Here’s what is new this week:
  • Twisted Traits
  • Monsters Over Pancakes: Traps Expansion
  • Dangerous Space: Kwadill, Rescue Mission

Twisted Traits

Twisted Traits is a collection of random character traits for the eight core classes found in Four Against Darkness. Each class has a d20 list of traits, and a list of rare traits. Most traits give a little edge in a specific situation or character development area, or give additional options for combat, magic, social interaction or skill use, or represent rare items the character possesses at the start of the game.

A fun little supplement that is extremely easy to integrate into your Four Against Darkness experience. As the book says, you can use - or ignore - what you find in here or roll. But if you’re looking for little ways to make your character feel a little less generic, such as having Tribal Tattoos on your Barbarian to affect Morale and wooing rolls, or having your Fighter be a Field Surgeon, making her use of bandages on herself more effective. With 20 traits, and 10 rare traits, for each class there’s a ton of area to grow out each character and party to give you new ways of approaching the same situations.

Monsters Over Pancakes: Traps Expansion

Your conquest to get pancake breakfast is now even more challenging with traps! Can you and your party escape these party fouls and still reach your stack of destiny?

Add in a few new cards into your quest for Pancakes, including three cards that contain traps to overcome. You might get lucky, of course, and avoid encountering the Mimic, spike pit, and swing blade traps during your game. But if luck is not on your side, you’ll get to commit party members to pass the test and, with success, you’ll get a small reward. However, failure can be painful. You’ll also find some nice items that can manipulate the dice, which is always a helpful thing to have when playing a game with some luck!

Dangerous Space: Kwadill, Rescue Mission

Private Gin has always been fascinated by the latest weapons and gear. The kwondorian’s current favorite is the tri-blaster.

With a limited amount of time on your hands, you’re going to have to move quickly in order to rescue the survivors. With the fearsome duo of Sharp Stowaways and the Strategic Pirates on board, you’ll have your work cut out for you as you navigate the interior of the ship. Because of the time crunch, you’ll probably want to boost your Kwondorian Boots first, giving you a little more movement around the board, and of course things like Crackshot might let you get some early hits on those threats so you can avoid suffering their punishing abilities.

Game of the Week: Big Easy Busking on sale for $7!

New Orleans, The Big Easy, is known for many things: Creole cuisine, a unique dialect, annual celebrations and festivals, and its distinctive music.

Do you have what it takes to travel to the birthplace of Jazz, show off your skills, and be named King or Queen of the Buskers?

Big Easy Busking is a competitive area control game about playing music, matching the mood of the crowd, and knowing when to push your band members to their max.

If you have ever wanted to be a musician but had no time, or talent, to do so then this game could be your wish fulfillment. Here you are controlling a small group of street musicians, known as Buskers, who play songs for various crowds. Choosing what song to play, when to learn a new song for your repertoire, and where to play your songs are all important decisions you’ll get to make. Striking the right balance will allow you to leave more area control cubes on that particular crowd, maximizing your payout. With a vibrant, color art style and an interesting twist on area control, this game is one that should delight game groups. Like all fantastic titles from Weird Giraffe Games, this one also comes with a solo mode that shouldn’t be missed.
