Hideous Abomination
The world demands Abominations! Sharpen your bone saws and practice your whipstitching, the competition has begun! Who can breathe life into the most repugnant and bizarre monstrosity? Flaunt your insane genius, impress the judges with your deviancy, shock audiences around the globe with your very own gruesome display of body part bricolage. Why on earth are we doing this, you ask? Less questions, more abominations!
Just in time for the Halloween month, we get to kick things off with a game about making monstrosities. This should be some clever, light-hearted fun with the goal of making your best abomination...but you can also steal, or add to, another player’s work. Your action for the turn is dictated by the die roll, but there should be plenty of opportunity to plan, scheme, and sabotage along the way in spite of that element of randomness. With grand prizes for points, as well as awards that change every game, no two plays will end up the same. Word of warning, though: colors matter, so if you typically print in black & white/low ink resolution, this one is probably not a good candidate for that. But with the delightful, colorful art in this one...it’ll be worth the ink investment.
Avignon: Schism
A strategic new way to experience Avignon.
Seven cards, a fresh new experience for your game of Avignon. This has players start with a character from five of the factions, being without a character in the sixth, and adds into play some new rules - including a win condition by getting three characters inactive. Perhaps even more interesting is the new Mass action, where you can gain it as a character card by using the action - but only if more characters are closer to you than to your opponent. Something tells me the Mass will be a crucial element to any game of Avignon with the Schism expansion in effect.
In Chunky Fighters, humorous characters fight it out in an all-or-nothing brawl. Players choose their fighters, then roll them to determine hit points and weapons. Each fighter is composed of four dice — head, body, legs, and weapon — along with a unique special ability card. Combat involves rolling damage and hit location dice. As fighters take damage, you rotate their body parts to show the remaining hit points until they're finally destroyed.
In addition to the standard attack, players can choose to change weapons, perform first aid, disarm an opponent, or make called shots for increased damage. Be the last fighter standing to win the game!
Chunky Fighters DX features four new fearsome fighters to add to your army:
- Witch
- Orc
- Vampire
- Horde of Rats

Game of the Week: Roll Estate for $1
Roll Estate is a love letter to the classics, where you’ll roll and write your way to wealth in a race to become the richest entrepreneur! Roll the dice three times to acquire loads of rental property, open bold new businesses, try your luck with some risky investments, and perhaps even win the lottery! Can you turn five dice into cool cash?
When you think classic, what comes to mind? If the answer wasn’t Roll Estate, it will be after you play this one. Capitalizing on the popularity of roll-and-writes isn’t a bad thing, right? This game has a definite classic feel while also being fresh, fun, and challenging to players. The best thing is that it can be played alone, or with up to 5 others, and has several options for score sheets. With a relatively small rulebook, you’ll be up and rolling in no time! Snag this at a great price to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the game’s release.
